Arts Queensland Resource Update - Issue 26 of 2015

Arts Queensland – Organisations Fund (2017-2020) Draft Guidelines

The Organisations Fund provides multi-year funding to contribute to the core operations of small to medium organisations in delivering arts and cultural activities that generate public value to Queensland. In early 2016, Arts Queensland will be accepting applications for the Organisations Fund (2017-2020).

There are some changes being proposed to the Organisations Fund (2017-2020) Guidelines.

Key changes include:

  • a move from triennial funding to quadrennial funding
  • inclusion of visual arts organisations seeking multi-year funding through the Visual Arts and Crafts Strategy
  • the introduction of a two stage process: an Expression of Interest, followed by a full application (which includes a 10 minute pitch and a 10 minute Q&A session with the Organisations Fund Panel).

These changes are outlined in the Organisations Fund 2017-2020 Draft Guidelines that are now open for consultation until 5pm Wednesday 16 December 2015.

Ministry of the Arts – Catalyst

Catalyst is the Australian Government’s new funding program for the arts. It will invest $12 million each year in innovative projects and initiatives from arts and cultural organisations. Projects by, or that involve, small to medium organisations will be given priority. The fund may also support some gallery, library, archive, museum, arts education and infrastructure projects. Applications open 27 November 2015.

Advance Queensland Creative Entrepreneurship Program: a partnership with YouTube

Funding, production resources and expert support will be available to support current and aspiring YouTubers to develop high-quality digital content and reach new global audiences via YouTube. Applications for the program awards will open in early 2016. Subscribe for Advance Queensland updates to find out when the award applications open.

Australia Council – Four-Year Funding

Applications for Four-Year funding of between $75,000 and $300,000 close 1 December 2015 for arts organisations of significant regional, national or international standing. Organisations must demonstrate artistic achievement and ambition with a compelling five year strategic vision.

Playing Australia: Regional Performing Arts Touring Fund

The Regional Performing Arts Touring program supports performing arts to reach regional and remote communities across Australia. Grants are available to support the net touring costs associated with a national tour. There is no limit on the amount that can be requested. Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with an Australia Council Grants Officer before applying to this fund. Applications close 1 December 2015.

Resource Update survey

Arts Queensland is seeking feedback about the impact and usefulness of the Resource Update which is sent via email and since mid-2014, has also been posted on the aqblog. The Resource Update first commenced in 2007 with the aim of providing arts administrators with regular, easy to digest information on funding, opportunities, research and resources. We are interested to understand whether it still fulfils its purpose. Your responses will be anonymous and cannot be identified by Arts Queensland.

The voluntary survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. The closing date for the survey is 30 November 2015. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S7M2HWX
