Propel your arts career with ACCELERATE 2016

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2016 round of the ACCELERATE program, which is tailored to provide Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people working within the creative industries with the skills and networks to excel in leadership positions. Applicants must have at least five years' experience in the sector, and be able to display a bold vision for furthering their career and engagement with the community.

Designed as a blended learning experience, the program enables successful participants to undergo intensive training workshops in Australia, before travelling to the UK for professional development opportunities in consultation with high-profile individuals and organisations in their artistic fields.

Since 2009, ACCELERATE has developed an impressive alumnus list of 29 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts leaders across creative disciplines, such as music, theatre, architecture, fashion,  galleries, and museums. Previous Queensland recipients of the program include Alick Tipoti, Michael Cook, Emma Loban, Solomon Booth, Kevin O’Brien, Marilyn Miller, Rita Pryce, and Tina Baum. Follow in their footsteps and apply by Friday 3 June, midnight AEST.

ACCELERATE 2016 is presented by the British Council and the Australia Council for the Arts in partnership with Arts Queensland, Arts NSW, Creative Victoria, Department of Culture and the Arts WA, with additional support from SBS NITV.
