Arts Queensland’s Billy Thorpe Scholarship

Arts Queensland’s annual Billy Thorpe Scholarship provides a structured range of support to establish a professional career through career planning and advice and the opportunity to record with a local producer. In 2015, this program will be delivered by industry peak body QMusic with the winner announced at the Queensland Music Awards in March 2016. The program is open to emerging individuals and bands. Applications close 27 November 2015.

 

Brisbane City Council – Lord Mayor’s Young and Emerging Artists Fellowships

The Lord Mayor’s Young and Emerging Artists Fellowships Program supports young and emerging Brisbane artists and artsworkers aged between 17 and 30. The program aims to develop creatives who wish to join national or international training and development programs. Funding of up to $20,000 is available with applications closing on 7 December 2015.

 

Queensland Arts Advocacy Group (QAAG)

The newly formed Queensland Arts Advocacy Group (QAAG) invites the arts sector to attend a half-day arts industry forum in Brisbane on 22nd October, 9am – 12 noon at the Judith Wright Centre. The purpose of the forum is twofold:

  • To broaden the engagement and active involvement in QAAG and help refine the objectives, priorities and actions plans of the group in the coming months
  • To improve the information sharing and networking between companies with the aim of supporting organisations during through the current period of change and uncertainty.

Australia Council – Four-Year Funding

Applications for Four-Year funding of between $75,000 and $300,000 close 1 December 2015 for arts organisations of significant regional, national or international standing. Organisations must demonstrate artistic achievement and ambition with a compelling five year strategic vision.

 

Playing Australia: Regional Performing Arts Touring Fund

The Regional Performing Arts Touring program supports performing arts to reach regional and remote communities across Australia. Grants are available to support the net touring costs associated with a national tour. There is no limit on the amount that can be requested. Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with an Australia Council Grants Officer before applying to this fund. Applications close 1 December 2015.
