Social Media House Rules

Arts Queensland has an active social media community of more than 37,000 users across FacebookTwitterInstagram, YouTubeLinkedIn and Google+. We encourage you to follow our channels to stay up to date with news, resources, funding information, and professional development opportunities within Queensland's arts and culture sector. House Rules

We welcome feedback and ideas from our online community and join the conversation where possible. We endeavour to read all comments and messages, and aim to respond to queries in a timely manner. 

When contributing your views please ensure that you:

  • protect your personal privacy and that of others by not including personal information about yourself or others in your comments (such as email addresses, private addresses or phone numbers).
  • represent your own views and do not impersonate or falsely represent any other person
  • do not abuse, harass or threaten others or make personal attacks.
  • do not add any content that racially or religiously vilifies others; incites, induces or aids violence, discrimination, harassment, victimisation or hatred towards others; is likely to offend, insult or humiliate others, particularly on the basis of their race, colour, descent, national origin, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation or any disability; or that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
  • do not make defamatory or libelous comments.
  • do not use insulting, provocative or hateful language.
  • do not use obscene or offensive language.


Participants on our social media channels are expected to treat each other, as well as Arts Queensland and our employees, with respect.  

We reserve the right to:

  • remove content that breaches any of the House Rules outlined above.
  • remove content that promotes services or products. 
  • close comments on a topic if the discussion is deemed to have become irrelevant or out-of-date by the page administrators.
  • remove content that is spam or unsolicited bulk messaging. Occurrences of this may result in a user being blocked.

If you see content that you deem inappropriate, please let us know and we will investigate the matter. The views expressed and published on Arts Queensland's social media channels by a participant, invitee, expert, guest or other person are not necessarily the views of Arts Queensland. We accept no responsibility arising from reliance by any person or party on any comment or information published on any of our social media channels. We also do not guarantee the accuracy or currency of any comment published on our social media channels.

Links to external websites and users’ social media accounts are provided as a convenience to users and such sites and associated content are not under the control of Arts Queensland. When links have been included, the content of these links does not and should not imply endorsement of that website, service or person by Arts Queensland.
