Cook Shire Council area

Overview

The Cook Shire Local Government Area has an active arts and cultural scene. The Cook Shire has a strong commitment to arts, heritage and cultural activities. A Foreshore Master Plan has been developed for four key precincts identified in the Cooktown Foreshore and Webber Esplanade Revitalisation Master Plan. Development of the Activity Precinct is currently underway. Many arts and cultural opportunities exist in the development of these precincts, given Cooktown’s strong historical and heritage attributes.
