Wheelchair and stroller access

Throughout the Cultural Centre, access ramps and facilities are signed andallow access to wheelchair and pram/stroller users.

Disabled parking is available in the Queensland Art Gallery/Queensland Museum, Stanley Place and Queensland Performing Arts Centre car parks.

Public facilities

Public toilets are located in each of the buildings of the Cultural Centre in addition to two outside locations.

  1. Pelican Pools on the Melbourne Street Plaza hosts a separate male, female and disabled toilet. These toilets open at 8am daily and close at 5pm
  2. Knowledge Walk outside the State Library of Queensland on Stanley Place hosts separate male and female toilets in addition to a parents room. These facilities open at 7am daily from 9am and close at 8.30pm

Additional toilets are located at the rear of the Café adjoining the Queensland Museum at the end of the Whale Mall. These toilets are open during Café operating hours.

Public telephones are located in three external locations therefore accessible 24 hours a day.

  1. Outside the Queensland Art Gallery shop
  2. In the Knowledge Walk at State Library of Queensland
  3. Stanley Place at the bus and taxi zone directly in front of the State Library of Queensland

Security

Security is on site 24/7 and the Cultural Centre is covered by CCTV cameras.

There is emergency call buttons throughout the Cultural Centre that connect through to security.

Lost Property and First Aid are available at Security which is located at the end of the Whale Mall, OS1 Walkway.
