Heard it on the Wireless - The Kransky Sisters |
|
| Venturing from the dusty curtained private world of their old family home in Esk, sisters Mourne, Eve, and Dawn Kransky, arrive in Brisbane with their darkly funny stories from across the countryside and their uniquely homespun versions of popular tunes heard on the old wireless. Heard it on the Wireless is the incarnation of their show Baggage, previously performed at the Playhouse in 2005. The show offers the chance for audiences to revisit many of the popular tunes the Kransky Sisters have performed over the years including hits from AC/DC, Steppenwolf, Russell Morris, Sugar Ray, and the Eurythmics. Winners of The Bank Of Scotland Herald Angel Award, The Melbourne Age Critic’s Award, Green Room award for Best Cabaret Ensemble, Barry Award Nomination and the prestigious Australian Entertainment Mo Award, this talented group of women combine their eclectic comedic talents and musical expertise to create a disturbingly believable trio. Witness the lilting harmonies and offbeat humour of the sisters as they accompany themselves on an old 60’s reed keyboard, Tuba, Musical Saw, kitchen pot, toilet brush and fervently shaken, duelling tambourines. Dates : Thursday April 12 to Saturday 14 April 2007
