2007 Brisbane International Film Festival a box office smash
BIFF in the Burbs

Record ticket sales, a sell-out children's program and full houses on opening and closing nights have made the 2007 Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) the most successful in its 16-year history.

Total ticket sales were up 10.2% compared to last year with 28 sell-out cinema sessions.

The top ten films – as voted by audiences - were:

  1. Unfinished Sky (Qld, Aust)
  2. The Home Song Stories (Aust)
  3. Death At a Funeral (UK)
  4. Control (UK)
  5. Away From Her (Canada)
  6. Irina Palm (UK/Belgium)
  7. Once (Ireland)
  8. Unlikely Travellers (Qld, Aust)
  9. Quinceñeara (US)
  10. The Jammed (Aust)

Cinesparks, BIFF's program for young people was a success with a number of films playing to packed out audiences.

The recently expanded BIFF in the Burbs was very popular among families, with attendance numbers increasing by more than 200%.
