Taking a Queensland story to the world |
|||
With the support of Arts Queensland, Queensland Ballet was able to take a unique Queensland story to the world. Queensland Ballet recently returned from a second successful European tour, performing Francois' Klaus's celebrated production of Cloudland throughout Germany and Switzerland. Supported by Brisbane musician Sean O'Boyle and his band Blackwood, Cloudland tells the stories of friendship and romance that blossomed in the legendary Brisbane ballroom from the 1940s to 1980s. Following the tour, Queensland Ballet Principal, Rachael Walsh and Soloist, Alex Wagner were invited to Seoul by the Korea Ballet Association to perform Francois Klaus' Chant d'Amour at the Asia Pacific Ballet Festival. Queensland Ballet's involvement in the prestigious international event which attracts dancers from around the world has strengthened Queensland Ballet's international reputation, with the Company set to tour Osaka and Kobe in April 2008. Brisbane audiences can see the Queensland Ballet perform The Nutcracker at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre from December 14 – 22. For more information visit Queensland Ballet. |
