After the Wave

A free exhibition at QPAC tells the story of the 2004 tsunami through the eyes of children from coastal Sri Lanka who experienced the disaster.

The 50 paintings and stories depict the devastation as well as hope for the future. The exhibition also includes an audiovisual presentation of life in their village before the tsunami.

This artwork comes to Australia from Children of Mother Lanka Association Inc (CoMLA Inc). Established in 2006, this charity works for the welfare and well-being of Sri Lanka children who suffered emotional and material loss in the tsunami.

CoMLA Inc is hoping to provide housing for four families in the region.

After the Wave runs until June 30. Go to QPAC for more information.
