Queensland artists joined 27 other Pacific nations at the 10th Festival of Pacific Arts, 20 July – 2 August.

The Festival celebrated the Indigenous cultures of the Pacific region in the areas of traditional and contemporary dance, music, theatre, literature, visual arts, craft and new media.

The Australia Council worked with state agencies, including Arts Queensland, to coordinate a national delegation of 30 people to represent Australia. Australia's delegation was led by artistic director Wesley Enoch.

The Festival of Pacific Arts attracted artists and delegates from 27 Pacific nations during its 10-day program.

With funding of $30,000 from Backing Indigenous Arts, seven Queensland artists joined the national delegation.
