Visions of Australia funding for Queensland touring exhibitions |

Visions of Australia is the Australian Government program to assist the development and touring of cultural exhibitions across Australia. In the recent round of Visions funding there were 15 successful applicants, including two Queensland organisations that received financial assistance to develop and tour exhibitions. Artisan (formerly Craft Queensland) received funding of $50,400 to develop Tour de Force - in case of emergency break the glass. Curated by Megan Bottari, this exhibition of contemporary glass features the work of eight nationally and internationally acclaimed Australian artists. Tour de Force will showcase innovative objects and installation works that explore conceptual arts practice that challenges and brings a fresh approach to contemporary Australian craft and glass practice. The Queensland Performing Arts Centre received $67,050 to tour Bobby Dazzler! Celebrating the Helpmann Centenary. This exhibition marks the centenary of the birth of one of Australia's theatrical legends, Sir Robert Helpmann, the internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer, actor and director. It brings together a selection of photographic and print material, costumes, artifacts, personal memorabilia, and audio visual material that explores the legacy of this significant Australian. After a popular period at QPAC's Tony Gould Gallery, the exhibition has moved on to tour venues in South Australia, Queensland and Victoria. | |||
