A new exhibition, fascinating installation and activities at the Cultural Centre's Gallery of Modern Art are entertaining young and old. Anne Wallace's interactive project, Release the bats, is now on show at the Park Level of GoMA's Children's Art Centre. Release the bats is an engaging installation with a range of free, hands-on activities for children of all ages. For more than 20 years Anne Wallace has created art works that draw from her interests in film and photography. Release the bats, Wallace's first major installation for children, considers the gothic, yet familiar elements of growing up as a child in Queensland. The project also represents the artist's first foray into filmmaking with three films, The Dark, Open Windows and Glasshouse, premiering as part of the installation.
