Arts Queensland – Arts Acumen
Arts Queensland has developed a suite of skills development resources (Arts acument page) that you can access and benefit from in everything from business planning to applying for funding.

State Library of Queensland – the GLAM sector and digital innovation
The State Library of Queensland is offering an opportunity to hear Dr Michael Brünig present on the 2014 CSIRO report on GLAM sector – Challenges and Opportunities for Australia’s Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums. To be held on Friday 30 January 2015, 12-1 pm at State Library of Queensland, Level 2, auditorium 1.

Josh Pyke and APRA
Josh Pyke (in conjunction with APRA) is offering an unsigned musician the exciting opportunity to receive mentorship and funding that will help to grow their career. The mentorship involves an initial meeting with Josh Pyke, Gregg Donovan (Wonderlick Entertainment), Stephen Wade (Select Music) to establish a business plan with follow up meeting three months later and funding of $7,500. Applications close 31 March 2015.

Arts Queensland – Projects and Programs Fund
The Projects and Programs Fund is for projects or programs of activities by an individual, organisation or collective. Its objective is to invest in vibrant arts and cultural experiences for Queenslanders. Applications of up to $60,000 can be made at any time from 23 March 2015.

ArtStart
The ArtStart program managed by Australia Council supports a career or business development strategy for your arts practice. It can include support for services, resources, skills development and equipment to help develop a sustainable career in the arts practice you have studied. Grants of up to $10,000 are available. Applications for the next round close on 3 March 2015.

 

Australia Council grants
The first round of Australia Council grants closes on 3 March 2015 and potential applicants are encouraged to contact Australia Council now to seek guidance on formulating your proposal. The funding categories are:

  • Development Grants for Individuals and Groups – $5,000 – $25,000
  • Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups – $10,000 – $50,000
  • Arts Projects – Organisations – $10,000 to $150,000
  • Six Year Funding – Organisations
     

Arts for All Queenslanders Strategy
New posts include:

Arts Acumen – resources for the arts sector
Students at the Edmund Rice Flexible Learning Centre in Deception Bay were introduced to new forms of creative self-expression through the Making Me Artist in Residence project, including doll-making and documentary film making
