Helen Franzmann, who lives in Brisbane, was selected as the 2009 recipient of the Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship and will travel to Berlin in 2010 as part of her prize.

The $20,000 Grant McLennan Fellowship, administered by Arts Queensland, was established in 2007 by the former Premier Peter Beattie in honour of the late Queensland singer-songwriter Grant McLennan of The Go-Betweens.
Grant was one of Australia's greatest songwriters and a founding member of internationally successful 1970's Brisbane band The Go-Betweens. See The Go-Betweens performing Streets of Your Town ![]()
The Fellowship offers the recipient an opportunity to travel to New York, London or Berlin and use the experience of being immersed in a foreign and vibrant musical cultural to further develop their own artistic skills. Entries for 2009 close 31 March 2009.
