RADF Conference

'taking it to the tropics'
Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) State Conference 13–16 November 2007

The RADF State Conference is a valuable opportunity for Council representatives and committee members working with the RADF Program to join together to celebrate the program's achievements and plan for the future.

This year, Cairns City and Mareeba Shire Council co-hosted the Conference over four days from 13th–16th November 2007 in Cairns and Kuranda.

Theme

The purpose of this year's RADF State Conference was to bring the new RADF Guidelines to life and stimulate innovative regional arts projects, celebrate and reward volunteers and RADF committees and address governance and management issues of the RADF Program by providing opportunities for delegates to:

  • network with regional colleagues and peers
  • update skills and knowledge of contemporary art practice and policy matters
  • discuss matters relating to the implementation of the RADF Program at a local level
  • explore possible regional partnerships and initiatives
  • showcase their council and/or work to a broad audience.
