$4 million arts funding for regional communities

Regional communities throughout Queensland will be able to access up to $4 million in arts funding thanks to a partnership between the Queensland Government and 59 local councils throughout the state.

Premier and Arts Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk said the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) delivered on the Queensland Government’s commitment to foster diverse and inclusive communities, grow strong regions and provide training, education and employment opportunities for Queenslanders.

“This funding ensures Queenslanders can engage with arts in their local community.

“Each year around 500,000 people are involved in RADF projects as practitioners, participants or audience members,” she said.

"This is an important milestone for RADF, celebrating 25 years of partnership between the Queensland Government and local governments to promote the role and value of arts, culture and heritage as key drivers of inclusive communities and strong regions.

“My Government is proud to continue support through RADF for a dynamic calendar of arts, cultural and heritage projects throughout Queensland, ranging from local festivals and celebrations, to training, education and employment outcomes for Queensland artists,” Premier Palaszczuk said.

“RADF enables councils to tailor their own arts and cultural funding program to support projects that align with the local priorities and strategic initiatives.

“Communities can access and participate in a range of arts and cultural activities and events, create public art, and build local capacity for new skills through workshops and education programs."

Applicants are encouraged to visit their local council website for more information about the Regional Arts Development Fund.
