Home > Policy and Strategy > Regional Arts and Culture Strategy

The artbeat: Regional Arts and Culture Strategy 2010-2014 is the Arts Portfolio's five-year policy and action plan for supporting arts and cultural development in Queensland's regional communities.

"Regional" is defined as remote, rural, provincial and metropolitan communities outside of the Brisbane City Council boundaries.

Summary of the strategy

The artbeat vision is: "Arts and culture are at the heart of regional communities, growing creativity and building connection and a sense of identity and place".

The strategy has five goals: Stronger communities; Participation; Arts and cultural practice; Skills, knowledge and networks; and Creative spaces and places.

Actions have been developed to deliver on these goals over five years.
