In 2011 the Queensland and Australian Governments agreed to implement the third iteration of the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy (VACS 3). This is a four year program (2011-12 to 2014-15) that builds on the strengths of the first two iterations of VACS. Under VACS 3, $27.664M over four years has been allocated nationally by the Australian Government to increase the viability and vitality of Australia’s contemporary visual arts and craft sector.

In Queensland, the Australian Government and the Queensland Government will each contribute $5.223M over four years, making a total of $10.446M for VACS 3 in Queensland over the next four years.

The focus of VACS 3 is Indigenous visual arts development; infrastructure development; individual development; and design.
