Arts Minister Rod Welford has launched a four-week consultation period for the concept, planning and development of the proposed Queensland Centre for Design.
The 2007–08 State Budget allocated $1 million to the planning of a design centre in Brisbane.
The State Government is now looking to the private sector to gauge what interest there is in delivering a hub for design disciplines and a launch pad for design excellence.
The State Government wants to see Queensland's reputation built as an international leader in subtropical and tropical design.
