Arts Queensland strives to build a strong and diverse arts sector which celebrates Queensland's unique identity and cultural heritage, drives a thriving creative economy, develops the creative capital of Queensland communities and enriches the lives of all Queenslanders.

The Regional Arts and Culture Awards publication - is a showcase that celebrates excellence through acknowledging outstanding arts and cultural work. Download the Regional Arts and Culture Awards book (PDF, 5 MB).

Growing and promoting quality - This is one of the five priority areas in the Queensland Arts and Cultural Sector Plan 2010–2013.

Queensland Theatre Mapping Project - To be a dynamic force in national and international theatre, Arts Queensland is evaluating the landscape.

Indigenous Theatre - A national approach to the development of the Indigenous theatre sector.

Creative Production Hubs - Arts Queensland is undertaking a study to scope the development of a Creative Production Hub to support small and mid scale performing arts in Queensland.

Tax Reform project - Arts Queensland has commissioned a study of attitudes and awareness of potential tax reforms to strengthen the sustainability of the arts sector.

Regional Stages - Arts Queensland and the Australia Council will provide joint funding of $900,000 over three years (2009-2011) to create a stronger local arts industry by placing an established arts producer in three Queensland regions to develop partnerships between the community, local artists and national/international practitioners.

Regional Service Delivery - The Community Arts and Cultural Development Regional Service Delivery Project (known as Regional Service Delivery) is a collaboration between Arts Queensland and the Community Partnerships section of the Australia Council for the Arts to pilot new service delivery models in Queensland for community arts and cultural development.

Cultural Places - Rockhampton pilot - Cultural Places (an initiative of the Australia Council) is an innovative approach to nurturing arts and cultural development in regional communities. Two regional centres have been chosen to conduct pilot projects – Goolwa in South Australia and Rockhampton in Queensland.

Creative Recovery Arts Corps Pilot Project - In late 2010 and early 2011, Queensland experienced its worst natural disasters on public record – floods which affected two-thirds of the state, followed by Cyclone Yasi in Far North Queensland. All 73 local government areas were declared disaster zones.

Queenslandersign - An initiative of the Queensland Design Council focused on raising the profile and understanding of good design and design thinking in Queensland, as well as celebrating the state's outstanding designers and design innovations.

Creative Capital: Arts and Culture Strategic Directions for Queensland - Creative Capital is an opportunity to reflect on where we have come over the past five years and how we can build on our successes into the future.
