Community Arts and Cultural Development Regional Service Delivery Pilot

Arts Queensland and the Community Partnerships section of the Australia Council for the Arts are collaborating to pilot new service delivery models in Queensland for community arts and cultural development.

An Invitation to Offer process was undertaken in late 2008 to identify suitably qualified providers to pilot regional service delivery models from early 2009.

The stand-out pilot project proposals selected reflect diverse and locally-driven approaches, each covering a broad region of Queensland.

The kinds of services offered can include

  • Information and support services for community arts and cultural development
  • Brokering and networking and developing strategic partnerships with industry sectors to achieve cultural outcomes for communities
  • Facilitating networks of artists and arts and cultural organisations
  • Representing and advocating to funding bodies and key decision makers on issues and trends in community arts and cultural development
  • Taking part in regional planning processes to advocate for arts and culture
  • A point of contact for central providers and to enable successful fly-in-fly-out programs

A Community Arts and Cultural Development Needs Analysis Project for South East Queensland is underway to identify how best to support service delivery in this region.
