The Organisations Fund 2022 – 2025 is providing $33.5 million in core funding to 46 Queensland arts and cultural organisations. There are 14 new entrants, along with 32 organisations that have previously received investment through the fund.

Aboriginal Art Co Limited*

Aboriginal Art Co is an Aboriginal owned and operated, not-for-profit organisation based in South Brisbane. Aboriginal Art Co connects ethical buyers to authentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and products. In 2016 the Indigenous Art Code and Arts Law Centre of Australia found that up to 80% of Indigenous art and products sold in the souvenir market were fake. Aboriginal Art Co advocates for and promotes authentic and quality products from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

Access Arts Inc

Access Arts creates opportunities for artists with disability or those who are experiencing disadvantage. Based in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, Access Arts delivers programs and professional development in all art forms at all levels, supporting its vision that all Queenslanders are free to participate, create and work in the arts.

Anywhere Festival

Anywhere Festival is an annual Brisbane-based festival presenting events in diverse and non-traditional venues and spaces.  Running since 2011, the festival delivers theatre, circus, dance, comedy, music and workshops, and has also expanded its reach from Brisbane to other regional centres.

Artisan (Craft Queensland)

Artisan is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting contemporary craft and design practice for both makers and their audiences. Based in Brisbane’s Bowen Hills, Artisan advocates for Australian artists through exhibitions, events, workshops and the artisan store. Artisan works to develop creative and commercial opportunities, and collaborates with organisations, businesses and the broader community.

Ausdance Qld

Based in the Judith Wright Arts Centre in Brisbane, Ausdance designs and delivers services to support dance professionals. It aims to educate and support the dance community by providing services, training and resources to dancers, artists, teachers, students and audiences, building the long-term capacity of Queensland’s dance sector.

Australasian Dance Collective

Australasian Dance Collective is one of Queensland’s leading contemporary dance companies. Based at the Judith Wright Arts Centre in Brisbane, the company creates and performs contemporary dance works at a range of major venues including the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

Australian Festival of Chamber Music

The Australian Festival of Chamber Music is an annual 10 day event in Townsville featuring international and national artists. The Festival also offers a Winterschool program for high school and emerging musicians who receive coaching, mentoring and performance opportunities.

Backbone Youth Arts

Backbone is a youth arts organisation and artistic company based in Brisbane. Backbone runs workshops, performances and festivals that inspire children and young adults to develop confidence, to find their voice and sense of purpose, and to develop versatile artistic practices. It is located at the East Brisbane Bowls Club, which has been transformed into an arts hub for events and performances.

Belloo Inc. Trading as Belloo Creative*

Belloo Creative is an all-female Australian theatre company, creating innovative and inclusive theatre works.  Since 2019 Belloo has been in residence with the Queensland Theatre, producing award-winning, original productions.

BlakDance Australia

BlakDance is a national industry organisation for contemporary First Nations contemporary dancers and choreographers. BlakDance supports artists and communities across many forms of dance and diverse geographies of histories, songlines and protocols. BlakDance is based at the Judith Wright Arts Centre in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC)

Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre works with culturally diverse artists, arts workers and communities, providing support through career development, employment and training pathways. BEMAC delivers high quality public programs, increasing audiences for world music and delivering positive outcomes for migrant and refugee communities. BEMAC also facilitates a range of programs and events in regional areas for local artists.

Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra

Camerata is a company in residence at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). Camerata works to empower artists, inspire audiences and enrich communities through music. Camerata performs a variety of styles of music in traditional and non-traditional spaces throughout the state, as well as workshops, concerts and school talks to support the education of young string players.

Cluster Arts are industry leaders in arts management based in Brisbane. Cluster Arts represents and manages arts companies including many of Australia’s major circus companies. Cluster Arts helps companies which are operating with limited administrative capacity to meet legal obligations, develop programs of work, plan strategically and continue to run their businesses.

Crossroad Arts Inc.

Crossroad Arts collaborates with people who experience a disability and those in aged care to help them participate in the arts. Based in Mackay, the organisation makes a major social contribution to Queensland communities.

Dead Puppet Society*

Dead Puppet Society is a Woolloongabba-based production house and design company, creating imaginative visual theatre, public art and sculpture, combining old school craftsmanship with cutting edge technology.

Digi Youth Arts*

Digi Youth Arts is a not-for-profit arts organisation based in Brisbane. Digi Youth Arts shares the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people by working with young people to create art, to encourage, document and share Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories.

Everybody NOW!*

Everybody NOW! creates community engaged, participatory performance arts projects, with and for communities. The company is based at Home of the Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast.

Eyeline Publishing Limited

Eyeline is a national art magazine which publishes criticism and analysis of contemporary visual arts, craft and related media. Based in Kelvin Grove, Eyeline brings together exhibition and content on the ideas and issues which are shaping the arts today.

Flipside Circus is a youth circus company delivering classes and training at their Circus Centre in Hamilton, Brisbane, as well as an artistic program of performances, community and social circus groups and performances across Queensland.

Flying Arts Alliance Inc.

Flying Arts Alliance is an arts and cultural development organisation delivering visual arts projects and services to regional and remote Queensland, based in Brisbane’s Judith Wright Arts Centre in Fortitude Valley. Services include workshops, webinars, residencies, exhibitions, projects, events, as well as business and project consulting.

Institute of Modern Art

Founded in 1975, the Institute of Modern Art is Australia's second oldest contemporary art space. Based at the Judith Wright Arts Centre in Fortitude Valley, it runs a program of exhibitions and events featuring emerging and established local, national, and international artists, profiling the moving image, sound art, and new music.

Just Us Theatre Ensemble (JUTE Company)

Cairns-based JUTE Theatre, located at Bulmba-ja arts centre, presents work that tells stories from the region. It delivers new work that resonates with the cultural diversity of Far North Queensland. JUTE delivers inclusive programs of new work, productions, regional and remote tours, training, mentorship and community outreach.

La Boite Theatre Company

La Boite is one of the longest running operating theatres in Australia with a reputation for fostering new Australian work. Since its early days, La Boite has incorporated touring into its programs and the company continues to engage with regional Queensland communities. La Boite works to develop artists and audiences with the aim to create pathways for local and national artists.

Metro Arts

Metro Arts develops and co-presents contemporary art in all its forms. It is a place for artists to create and present contemporary art. Metro Arts provides support to the wider artistic community with low cost short and long term venue hire for creative businesses, photo shoots, rehearsals, exhibitions, performances and auditions. It is based in West End.

Museum and Gallery Services Queensland Limited

Museum and Gallery Services Queensland is the peak professional body for the public museum and gallery sector in Queensland. The organisation delivers sector development, training, research, advisory and advocacy programs promoting best practice, building skills and celebrating achievements.

NorthSite Contemporary Arts

NorthSite Contemporary Arts is an independent contemporary visual arts institution, located within Bulmba-ja arts centre in Cairns. NorthSite Contemporary Arts champions artist of the north and presents boundary-pushing programs across visual art, craft, design, sound, performance and screen media.

Outer Space Artist Run Initiative*

Outer Space is a not-for-profit contemporary arts organisation based at the Judith Wright Arts Centre in Fortitude Valley. Outer Space collaborates with artists and arts workers to develop, make and present creative works as well as delivering exhibitions, events and programs.

Phluxus2 Dance Collective*

Phluxus2 Dance Collective is based in Brisbane. Phluxus2 encompasses over 80 artists in a collective that creates and performs new contemporary dance work. Phluxus2 creates work for the stage, events, ceremonies and studios, as well as education, community and sector engagement initiatives.

Placemakers Gold Coast

Placemakers is an independent arts organisation and group of creatives based on the Gold Coast. Placemakers* creates unique, local arts and cultural events and connects artists, organisations and communities. Placemakers is also the creative agency behind the annual Bleach contemporary arts festival.

Playlab Theatre

Playlab works to nurture and develop new playwrights and plays by offering support to playwrights by providing an environment which stimulates them to produce their best work. Playlab is based in Brisbane.

Queensland Music Network Incorporated

QMusic is Queensland's music industry development association with a focus on promoting the artistic value, cultural worth and commercial potential of Queensland music. QMusic delivers signature events BIGSOUND, the biggest contemporary music industry gathering in Australia, and the Queensland Music Awards which builds the profile of the Queensland music industry. QMusic is based in Brisbane.

Queensland Writers Centre

Based in South Brisbane, Queensland Writers Centre supports writing talent in Queensland by providing services to published authors and emerging writers. Queensland Writers Centre delivers training, programs, services and professional development opportunities to writers across the country.

Queensland Youth Orchestra Council

Queensland Youth Orchestra is a youth orchestra organisation based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane. It comprises 7 orchestras and ensembles with 500 musicians aged from 8 to 24. Its mission is to nurture and inspire a diverse community of young musicians through making music together.

shake & stir is a contemporary theatre company based in Brisbane. shake & stir produces an annual season of mainstage and in-school productions, after school drama classes and tours nationally taking medium to large scale works to major metropolitan and regional centres.

SWELL Sculpture Festival Ltd

The annual Swell Sculpture Festival, Queensland’s largest outdoor public art exhibition, based on the Gold Coast. The festival comprises sculpture exhibitions, artist talks, workshops and children’s activities and attracts more than 250,000 attendees each year.

The Farm*

The Farm is a contemporary dance-theatre collective of artists and designers, based at Miami on the Gold Coast.  The aim of the Farm is to be a place for artists of varying experience to share ideas, collaborate and present work.

The Little Red Company*

The Little Red Company is an independent production house based at the Judith Wright Arts Centre in Fortitude Valley. Little Red Company delivers music-driven theatrical experiences and brings together artists from diverse backgrounds to create productions that attract new audiences to the theatre.

Topology

Based in Brisbane, Topology is a music ensemble creating music experiences for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. They perform throughout Australia and abroad and have to date released 14 albums.

Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts

Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts is an independent platform for contemporary and experimental arts practice from Townsville. Umbrella runs an annual program of exhibitions, public programs, arts residencies and special events.

University of Queensland Press

University of Queensland Press (UQP) is a publishing house based in Brisbane. UQP is known for publishing literary works, poetry and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories. UQP connects artists, readers, writers and arts organisations and advocate for the value of books to the human experience.

UPLIT (Brisbane Writers Festival)

The Brisbane Writers Festival supports Queensland writing talent and encourages engagement between readers and writers. Brisbane Writers Festival brings stories and ideas to Queensland communities by presenting an annual writers festival, an annual Word Play program for students from Prep to Year 12, a year-round program of literary events and regional outreach programs.

Vulcana Women’s Circus

Brisbane-based Vulcana creates circus performance with a range of artists, from those new to circus, to emerging and highly experienced performers, plus other collaborating communities. Vulcana welcomes women, trans and non-binary gendered adults, kids and teens of all genders, to its inclusive circus training, performance making projects, and community engagement programs. It offers everybody a place to explore their uniqueness and their creativity.
