Plan a visit

Fortitude Valley is in a busy part of Brisbane. We recommend checking for traffic updates before you visit, and planning your trip so you you don't miss the start of your event!

Important Information

The Judith Wright Arts Centre (JWAC) operates in line with the Queensland Government’s current public health directions.

Visitors to the centre are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask and practise social distancing where possible. Hand sanitiser is available throughout the building.

Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell or experiencing cold or flu symptoms. If you have purchased a ticket to a performance and you're unable to attend due to illness, please contact the presenter of the show directly for their ticketing terms.

Entrance

Entrances to JWAC are on Brunswick St and Berwick St. Generally, only the Brunswick St entrance is open for performances in the Performance Space.

Both entrances have lifts and are wheelchair accessible. The Box Office is located on Level 2R and the Performance Space is on Level 2. Theatre Rehersal Space is on Level 4.

Box Office and Ticketing

JWAC does not operate a Box Office or manage ticketing. Hirers of the spaces are responsible for coordinating ticketing and operating a Box Office on performance days.

Parking

There is no parking onsite at the JWAC. Visitors can find several care park options nearby. Wilson Parking and Secure Parking operate car parks close by. Visit their websites for more information on locations and pricing.

There is limited metered on-street parking in Fortitude Valley. These spaces fill up very quickly, and are difficult to secure. We would encourage alternative options.

Public Transport

Fortitude Valley is well serviced by both bus and train networks.

Fortitude Valley Train Station is located beneath the Valley Metro complex. Pedestrian access to the station is via 2 thoroughfares near the corner of Brunswick and Wickham Streets and a pedestrian overpass connecting to McWhirters.

The 199, 196 and 195 buses all stop directly outside the Judith Wright Arts Centre.

For public transport timetable information, contact TransLink on 131 230 or plan your journey online.

Accessbility

JWAC is a wheelchair accessible venue. Lifts and ambulant toilets, equipped with baby-changing facilities are available for use on all levels.

The Performance Space at Judith Wright Arts Centre has a hearing augmentation system.

Call 07 3872 9000 or email centremanagement@arts.qld.gov.au if you have any specific requirements you would like to ask staff about.
