Creative Together 2020-2030: A 10-Year Roadmap for arts, culture and creativity in Queensland

Launched on 1 October Creative Together: A 10-year Roadmap for arts, culture and creativity in Queensland is set to help revitalise creative industries, support infrastructure and jobs, and power Queensland’s plan for economic recovery.

Creative Together outlines a clear vision to renew and transform Queensland through creativity over the next decade, made possible because of Queensland’s positive health response to COVID-19.

At the core of Creative Together is a strong and sustainable sector in Queensland, which can adapt to meet audience demand, embrace innovative delivery models, attract investors and build financial sustainability. With a strong sector, we will renew and transform Queensland and deliver on the following priorities:

  • Elevate First Nations arts
  • Activate Queensland’s local places and global digital spaces
  • Drive social change across the state
  • Strengthen Queensland communities
  • Share our stories and celebrate our storytellers.

The Queensland Government’s $22.5 million Arts and Cultural Recovery Package announced in June is a down payment on Creative Together and will support the Roadmap’s first two-year action plan, Sustain 2020-2022. The Arts and Cultural Recovery Package, a key part of Sustain 2020-2022, with a focus on stabilising Queensland’s arts companies, securing jobs for artists and arts workers, and delivering COVID-safe cultural experiences to Queensland audiences.

Creative Together presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to harness the power of Queensland stories and world-class artistic capability to connect communities, drive economic growth and regional development, improve health outcomes and stimulate creative thinking to face the challenges ahead.
