Regional Community Arts Program recipients announced

The Regional Community Arts Program (RCAP) supports community-led arts organisations and groups across regional Queensland.

29 Queensland organisations, groups and projects will share in more than $1.5 million RCAP funding supporting their delivery of community-based arts and cultural programs and activities.

RCAP two-year core funding recipients include:

  • Assorted Grains Inc. –$100,000. An artist-run, LGBTQIA+ led charity based in Logan, which is dedicated to building a creative, inclusive and connected community through the arts. 
  • Australian Institute of Country Music Inc. –$100,000. A community-based organisation in Gympie that connects people through music, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Central Highlands Music Festival Inc. – $100,000. Supports the community in music making and skills development throughout the year, culminating in the annual Central Highlands Festival of Bands in Emerald.
  • Charleville Dance House Inc. –$100,000. Provides dance classes across a wide range of genres and age groups.
  • Circus Ipswich Inc. –$100,000. A community circus school dedicated to bringing the art of circus to young people across the Ipswich region.
  • Gold Coast Multicultural Arts (GCMAGIC) – $100,000. A not-for-profit arts organisation dedicated to supporting creative talents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Gold Coast Potters Association – $100,000. A dual-campus ceramic arts centre, which focuses on elevating pottery as a foundational art form.
  • Hinterland Arts Group Inc. T/A Pomona Railway Station Gallery –$34,560. A volunteer-run, not-for-profit community organisation that has operated for 25 years in the Pomona railway station buildings.
  • Keppel Coast Arts Council Inc. –$100,000. A volunteer-run, not-for-profit community arts organisation in Central Queensland that supports a range of artforms and annual events.
  • Mount Morgan Citizens Club Inc. –$70,000. A volunteer-run initiative managing two key cultural venues in Mount Morgan and hosting a range of cultural events.
  • Munimba-ja Arts Centre – $100,000. A not-for-profit Indigenous arts organisation based on Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country (Sunshine Coast).
  • North Queensland Ensembles Inc. – $100,000. The Great Barrier Reef Orchestra brings together around 70 talented musicians, most of whom are based in Townsville.
  • Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra Inc. –$100,000. Central Queensland’s leading community orchestra, driving artistic excellence, regional collaboration, and inclusive cultural development.
  • South Burnett Community Orchestra Association Inc. –$50,000. A volunteer-run organisation of regional musicians dedicated to the development of the musical skills of their members.
  • The Lighthouse Toowoomba (part of The Child Writes Fund Limited) –$94,216. A regional creative-literacy hub located in the heart of Toowoomba’s CBD, which enables people, especially children, to create and share stories.
  • Tamborine Mountain Arts Collective –$96,000. A multi-arts organisation representing painters, potters, musicians, performers, writers, poets, and multi-disciplinary creatives.
  • Toowoomba Concert Orchestra – $23,248. A volunteer-based community ensemble dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the region through high-quality musical performance, collaboration and community engagement.

RCAP project funding recipients include:

  • Banana Shire Community Arts Association Inc. – $16,300. Biloela’s Creative Capers 2026 project features a weekend of arts and crafts workshops for community members aged 14 years and over.
  • Bring A Plate Dance Australia Ltd. – $19,460. The Bring A Plate Inclusive Dance project aims to establish three inclusive community dance hubs across the Sunshine Coast Region and Noosa Shire, offering outdoor classes to people of all ages and abilities for eight weeks.
  • Charleville and District Cultural Association Inc. –  $16,500. The Bilby Art Trail will feature painted sculptures that celebrate the town's connection to the endangered species and promote conservation awareness.
  • Cleveland Singers Inc. – $19,900. The organisation will bring together music groups, schools, and organisations to stage a performance of Handel’s Messiah.
  • Mary Valley Artslink Inc. –$18,970. The 12-month Mary Valley Artslink professional development and workshop program aims to strengthen the professional and creative capacity of local artists.
  • Mount Isa Community Ensembles Inc. –$13,390. The Queens of Song – Mount Isa Project offers a series of workshops, mentoring sessions and collaborative rehearsals designed to build musical and creative skills, culminating in a public concert.
  • Mr EJ Garrett on behalf of the Burnett River Artists group  – $16,740. The Burnett River Artists First Nations Regional Arts Project includes a week-long workshop series uniting Indigenous artists from the North Burnett Region to create works for an exhibition at the RM Williams Centre in July 2026.
  • New North Artist Run Initiative – $19,580. The Apparent Light project is a two-night projection and light-based activation, transforming Peregian Beach Village into an open-air exhibition of light, sound and performance.
  • Rockhampton Youth Orchestra Inc. – $19,676. The Symphony of Stories project will provide young people with free access to books, orchestral performances and talks by author/illustrator Peter Carnavas as part of Book Week in August 2026.
  • Sing Sing Sing Ltd. (Cleveland) – $20,000. The Sing Sing Sing Needs Your Voice project aims to overcome financial barriers through low-cost introductory workshops, while fostering inclusion and participation in the annual concert.
  • Somerset Art Society Inc. – $20,000. The New Horizons at The Condensery project aims to provide artists and artworkers a professional development and exhibition opportunity through educational programs, mentorships and guided conceptual development.
  • Townsville Folk and Acoustic Music Club Inc. – $9,709. The Rising Stars Band Academy project includes an eight-week mentorship program offering professional training to local high school bands, culminating in a performance at the Townsville Folk Festival.
