Initiatives

  • Designing Queensland - a $3 million program focusing on Queensland design, global success.

  • Design Strategy 2020 - a Queensland Government framework dedicated to promoting the value of design and inspiring its take up by Queensland businesses, the community, and the public sector.

  • Design Triennial - Asia-Pacific Design Triennial, Brisbane, Australia, 4-10 October 2010

  • Design Centre - the 2007-08 State Budget allocated $1 million to the planning of a design centre in Brisbane.
  • Visual Arts Craft Strategy (VACS) - The State Government and the Australian Government are equal partners in a funding initiative for Queensland's contemporary visual arts and craft sector.
  • Write About Art Senior students from across Queensland are invited to participate in Arts Queensland's Write About Art competition by submitting an essay, interview or feature story about art or design.
