The Centre is home to a number of arts companies such as the Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts, Artour, AusDance Queensland, BlakDance, Circa, Creative Partnerships Australia, Expressions Dance Company, Flying Arts Alliance, Institute of Modern Art and Musica Viva, as well as Carbon Creative, Ultralinea, and Slingshot Bar Gallery. The Centre also presents an ambitious program of exhibitions and events presented by our tenants throughout the year.

Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts

The Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts (ACPA) is an inspirational centre of training excellence and innovation for contemporary dance, music, and theatre. 


arTour supports performing artists and producers to tour work through regional Queensland and nationally, and assists Queensland presenters to program performance work for their local audiences.

Ausdance Queensland

Part of a national network, Ausdance Queensland is the state’s peak body representing the interests of its diverse dance community.


BlakDance is the national peak body for Indigenous dance in Australia, prioritising independent artists and emerging small to medium companies.

Circa Contemporary Circus

Circa Contemporary Circus is one of the world’s leading performance companies. Since 2004, from our base in Brisbane, Australia, we have toured the world – performing in 39 countries to over a million people.

Creative Partnerships Australia

Creative Partnerships Australia sparks investment in the arts by fostering giving and partnerships between the cultural sector, supporters and investors; and by equipping artists and arts organisations with the fundraising and development skills to succeed.

Expressions Dance Company

Since 1984 Expressions Dance Company (EDC) has created more than 170 works by more than 75 renowned national and international choreographers. In addition to touring Australia and overseas, EDC is partnered with Queensland Performing Arts Centre in presenting an annual program of world-class contemporary dance theatre.

Flying Arts Alliance Inc.

Flying Arts embraces a spirit of adventure to inspire the appreciation, practice and professional development of the visual arts as a lifetime interest or career aspiration, and a creative life for all Queenslanders.

Institute of Modern Art (IMA)

The Institute of Modern Art (IMA) is one of Australia’s oldest independent art galleries, and its history coincides with the development of contemporary art in this country.

Musica Viva

Musica Viva is the largest presenter of chamber music in the world, a truly national company with offices in every Australian state and territory, reaching approximately 360,000 people directly every year through our International Concert Series and Musica Viva in Schools.

Slingshot Bar Gallery

Tucked into the façade of the Judith Wright Centre, this cosy bar and gallery space was opened by four local friends who jumped at the chance to open their own bar that also supported the local art scene.
