John Stezaker: Kisses and Trains
English artist John Stezaker is renowned for his surreal collages and flicker films, which transform found images into dynamic, time-based works. In Kiss (2019–20), film stills of couples kissing are reanimated into jittery, erotic sequences, while Train (2012–21) brings steam trains to life with rhythmic, smoke-filled motion. These works nod to early cinema classics like The Kiss (1896) and The Arrival of a Train (1895).
