Strategic Partnerships Fund outcomes

Successful Strategic Partnership Fund + CPA Plus1 recipients (as at December 2022)

Funding of up to $376,500 through the Strategic Partnerships Fund will enable nine arts organisations to leverage additional revenue. These arts companies were identified through a partnership with the national Creative Partnerships Australia (CPA) Plus1 program.

The Strategic Partnerships Fund and the CPA Plus1 programs share key priorities for small to medium arts recipients to leverage their funding and grow new income streams through co-investments, and philanthropic and financial partnerships.

  • Access Arts - up to $50,000 for Make the Stage as part of Undercover Arts Festival, supporting artists with disability to produce develop and perform their own work.
  • Australasian Dance Collective Limited (ADC) - up to $50,000 for Triple your support for THREE in 2023 to support three new commissions, featuring three choreographers, three composers, multiple lighting and costume designers and six ADC company artists.
  • Australian Festival of Chamber Music North Queensland Ltd - up to $36,500 for AFCM Winterschool, offering an advanced program for emerging national and international chamber groups as well as outreach workshops with concerts in Townsville, Ayr and Charters Towers schools and communities.
  • Ballet Theatre of Queensland (BTQ) - up to $10,000 for the company’s Live Music Campaign to supporting the inclusion of Cadenza Chamber Players to play at BTQ performances in 2023.
  • Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra - up to $40,000 to establish a fundraising and donor development strategy.
  • Dancenorth Australia Ltd - up to $50,000 for Regional Regeneration campaign to deepen connections with North and Far North Queensland increasing creative participation and engagement.
  • Institute of Modern Art (IMA) - up to $50,000 for Tropical Ecologies, expanding the IMA north to collaborate with regional Queensland artists and institutions.
  • La Boite - up to $50,000 for the Numb Bum Fund & Artistic Associates Donor Group to establish a giving program for a seating upgrade, and to engage new and entrepreneurial arts enthusiasts.
  • Topology - up to $40,000 for The War Artist, a new collaborative work combining music, vocals, animation and spoken work inspired by Australian author Simon Cleary’s novel.

Circa Cairns

Queensland Government funding of $900,000 for Circa Cairns includes investment of $650,000 over two years through the Strategic Partnerships Fund with the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation committing $900,000 to match state funding.  This total investment will enable Circa to boost its reputation for exceptional physical theatre and extend its influence in Far North Queensland, providing career pathways and employment with a focus on First Nations artists and artworkers.
