Opera meets beef in the latest tour for Opera Queensland

At Beef Week preview on 23 March, Opera Queensland showed a prime cut of their new touring production Are You Lonesome Tonight, which will premiere at Rockhampton’s Beef Week 2021 (2 – 8 May 2021).

Marking Opera Queensland’s 40th Anniversary year with their largest ever tour, Are You Lonesome Tonight brings together opera and country music, visiting 29 regional Queensland towns and centres throughout May and June.

The Beef Week world premiere will include the Beef Australia Community Chorus, and offers opportunity for locals and singers of all abilities to get involved with Opera Queensland.

Arts Queensland is supporting Are You Lonesome Tonight through the Playing Queensland Fund, with the Opera Queensland tour helping artists to get back out on the road and creating new ways for communities to engage with opera.
